The Saline girls' track and field team continues to roll as the season nears the midway point.
Saline defeated their hosts in an SEC meet at Ann Arbor Huron Tuesday, 109-19 (score does not include the pole vault).
Individually, Quenee' Dale was a double winner. Dale won the 100 hurdles in 14.85 seconds – a nearly three-second victory. Finishing second was Saline's Wendy Szuminski (17.54). Dale also edged Huron freshman Brooke Bogan in the 100 dash (13.11 to 13.29). Alana Hollis and Lisa Gross finished third and fourth.
Sophomore Janell Green won the 200 dash in 26.27, edging Bogan (26.43) Lisa Gross (27.48) and Kennedy Beazley (27.67) were third and fourth.
Alexa Ross was the winner of the 400 dash (59.54). Junior Lillian Schescke was third (1:03.7).
Hailey Mayes won the 300 hurdles (49.27). Olivia Roe was second (51.2).
Elianna Shwayder (2.19.36) bested Gloria Park (2.20.64) in the 800. Gillian Walter won the 3200 meter run in 12:03.8. She was followed by Katie Fedoronko (12:09.47), Lillie Phelps (12:23.73) and Haleigh Cummings (12.33.52).
Saline won the all the relay events.
In the field, Amelia Wittig captured the discus with a throw of 106-08. Erin Connor was third (94-05), just ahead of Victoria Black (93-02). Connor won the shot put (35 feet). Wittig was second (33-06.5) and Elaine Schwingel (30-09) was third.
Lauren Sayer won the high jump (4-10). Olivia Roe (4-08) was second and Madeline Keith and Kyra Ross (4-06) tied for third.
In the long jump, Lauren Sayre was first (14-04), besting Madeline Kieth by an inch.
