There were three reported thefts from vehicles parked on Valley Circle Drive at Six Trails Apartments overnight Dec. 26-27.
A 17-year-old Milan man told police that someone stole a driver’s license and two gift cards, valued at $115, from a wallet left in his vehicle. A 34-year-old Saline woman told police that someone stole a 36-year-old man’s laptop from his vehicle’s trunk. Someone apparently rummaged through his car. It was unclear if the vehicle was locked. A 43-year-old Saline woman told police that $70 in cash, and $125 in gift cards were taken from her 12-year-old daughter’s wristlet. The woman told police she was almost certain she locked her doors.
There were no markings that would indicate the vehicles had been pried or forced open.
Woman Arrested for Driving With Suspended License
A 32-year-old Ann Arbor woman was arrested for driving with a suspended license Dec. 28. Saline Police were notified of an erratic driver heading west on Michigan Avenue. Police spotted the white Ford Aerostar and observed it nearly cause an accident when it attempted to merge lanes without using a blinker. The van stopped in the middle of both lanes before increasing speed to merge. Police stopped the vehicle when it turned north on Ann Arbor Street. The woman told police she’d finished working in Saline and drove to Circle K before coming back to Saline to deliver a prescription to her ex-husband. When asked about her erratic driving the woman told police she was attempting to drive while texting to complete a financial transfer. Police discovered her license was suspended. A field sobriety test determined the woman was not intoxicated by drugs or narcotics.
The woman was arrested and released.
A 27-year-old-old employee at Mac’s Acadian Seafood Shack on Michigan Avenue reported that someone stole his Fitbit. The Saline man told police he arrived at work Dec. 29 and put the pedometer in a pocket in his backpack. Later that day, the Fitbit was missing.
