This fall, 104 communities throughout the state of Michigan hosted a local NFL Punt, Pass and Kick Competition. Winners of the local competitions in each age group then advanced to one of eight (8) sectional competitions held in early October. The top four sectional winners with the best score in each age division converged at Ford Field for the 26th Annual Michigan NFL Punt, Pass & Kick Detroit Lions team (state) championship this past Sunday.
The Punt, Pass & Kick competition is open to all boys and girls ages 6-15 who want to show their talents in punting, place kicking, and passing a football. Each participant is allowed one punt, one pass, and one place kick. Scores are based on both distance and accuracy.
Saline Parks & Recreation hosted both a local competition in September as well as 1 of the 8 sectionals in October.
