Neighbors, friends, and fellow Saline residents,

Two years ago, when I first had the honor of being elected as Saline’s mayor, I wrote a letter to the Saline community. This year, I feel a similar letter is appropriate.

Firstly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much to everyone who chose to support me; your kindness throughout the campaign - and at the polls - was truly humbling. I have enjoyed meeting so many Saline community members at community events, and going door-to-door throughout our city. For those I haven’t yet met, I look forward to meeting you and understanding your concerns, and your ideas for moving our community forward.

I remain committed to focusing on the issues that first inspired me to public service: support for public safety, fiscal responsibility, economic development, investment in infrastructure, and accessibility and transparency in government. I so much look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues on City Council, along with city staff, community stakeholders and all Saline residents, to make our city an even better place.

To those Saline residents who chose to vote for another candidate, I am committed to earning your trust and confidence, and please know that I will do my very best to represent you and your

In the weeks, months, and years ahead, I look forward to conversations about residents’ ideas and suggestions, and to moving together toward a vision for our community’s future.

Finally, I want to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas, and a joyous holiday season.

Brian D. Marl

Mayor, City of Saline
