Rash of Thefts from Vehicles Continues Through Weekend

The rash of thefts from parked vehicles continued this weekend in the City of Saline. At least two more thefts taking place Saturday and Sunday were reported to Saline Police.

Saline Police Department Sgt. Jay Basso asked residents with any information about the thefts to contact the department at 429-7911.

“We’ve had great citizens come forward with information and we’re following up on that,” Basso said.

In the meantime, Basso has advice for Saline residents.

“Remove valuable possessions from your vehicle. And lock your doors. Not a single car has been damaged. The subject responsible is opening unlocked doors and stealing electronics, loose change and other items,” Basso said.

The incidents may related to thefts in Pittsfield Township. Basso said the departments have communicated about the issue in hopes of catching the person or people responsible.

The thefts have mostly been in near Clark Street or near Sheffield Drive.

·   Nov. 9, larceny from vehicle, 700 block of Lambkins Road.

·   Nov. 8, larceny from vehicle, 100 block of Sheffield Drive.

·   Nov. 7, larceny from vehicle, 200 block of Clark Street.

·   Nov. 7, larceny from vehicle, 200 block of Clark Street.

·   Nov. 7, larceny from yards, 900 block of Arboretum Drive.

·   Nov. 6, larceny from vehicle, 100 block of Tower Drive

·   Nov. 6, larceny from vehicle, 100 block of North Harris.

·   Nov. 6, larceny from vehicle, 100 block of Sheffield Drive.

·   Nov. 6, larceny from vehicle, 200 block of Sheffield Drive.

·   Nov. 6, larceny from vehicle, 200 block of Sheffield Drive.

·   Nov. 6, larceny from vehicle, 200 block of Sheffield Drive.
