A 48-year-old Saline woman called police after a neighbor shot an arrow through her window and into her living room wall.
The Hillcrest Drive woman was in her kitchen at about 5:40 p.m., Oct. 24, when she heard glass shattering. She went into the living room and found an arrow stuck in the wall. She looked out the back window and saw her neighbor, a 46-year-old Harris Street man, standing by the fence and looking at her house.
She yelled at the man, demanding an explanation. The man immediately went to the residence to explain that he was practicing with his bow in the backyard when he accidentally activated the trigger. The woman called police.
Police described the man as remorseful and apologetic. He told police he was practicing in his backyard, shooting at a target he set up next to the fence when the arrow was accidentally released and went through the neighbor’s window.
Police advised the man that it was against the law to shoot his crossbow in the city.
The case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
