From Around Here Productions and Two Twelve Arts Center present MATING CALLS, a new comedy written and directed by Brian Cox and produced by Margie Bovee and Heather LaDuke. Performances are at 8 p.m. 

April 28, 29 and 30 at Riverside Arts Center in Ypsilanti.

MATING CALLS is four vignettes that tell the stories of men and women looking for love, including a bride who confesses to friends that she may have more than cold feet; a man and woman whose 30-year relationship is explored through time spent at bathroom sinks; a man and woman who struggle with the voices in their heads as they combat loneliness; and a groom and two friends who engage in an act of breaking and entering to retrieve a sentimental picture.

From Around Here Productions continues to feature some of Michigan’s most talented actors in its spring production MATING CALLS, which stars Maggie Beson, Callie Bussell, Ryan Ernst, David Galido, Holly Kreag, Trevor Maher, Joe Sfair and Kelly Rose Voigt.  You may recognize the cast from local productions by fellow theater companies such as Shakespeare in Detroit, Ann Arbor Civic Theater, Farmington Players, Carriage House Theater, Two Muses and others.    

Tickets are $15.  Open for one weekend only – 8 p.m. April 28, 29 and 30 at Riverside Arts Center located at 76 N. ABOUT Two Twelve Arts Center / From Around Here Productions:  In December 2005, the board of directors of the Cowan Slavin Foundation voted to begin Two Twelve Arts Center and the lease for the house at 212 W. Michigan Avenue was signed. Under the vision of Margie Slavin Bovee, Two Twelve Arts Center became a reality with classes beginning in April 2006. And in 2013, Margie Slavin Bovee launched From Around Here Productions, the theater arm of Two Twelve.The mission of Two Twelve Arts Center is to provide a creative hub offering visual and performing artists the opportunity and working space to come together to work, create, and teach.  In conjunction with Two Twelve Arts Center, From Around Here Productions fosters the work of Michigan playwrights by affording an opportunity for original plays to be staged as a step in the play’s development.  Playwrights take part in the work-in-process with the actors and director and receive feedback from an audience.
