The Saline Area Schools Board of Education approved new assignments for current administrators David Raft and Brad Bezeau at their April 26th Board of Education meeting. The Saline Area Schools Board of Education approved new assignments for current administrators David Raft and Brad Bezeau at their April 26th Board of Education meeting. The assignments are for the 2016-17 school year.

Superintendent Scot Graden recommended Mr. David Raft be assigned as the principal of Saline High School. 

Mr. Raft has been with the district for 25 years and has served as the Middle School principal for the past 8 years. 

Superintendent Graden said, “Mr. Raft’s 14 years as a building principal within Saline Area Schools has prepared him well to become the principal at Saline High School. He has demonstrated beyond a doubt that he is vested in the community, that he is an innovative and collaborative leader and that he has a tremendous work ethic. I am excited to watch Mr. Raft continue the tradition of excellence our community expects from our high school principal.” 

Mr. Raft noted, “I am very excited and humbled at the opportunity to be the Saline High School Principal.  I have committed my entire career to Saline Area Schools and I look forward to many years at Saline High School".  

Mr. Raft received his Masters of Arts in Educational Technology from Michigan State University as well as a Masters of Science in Educational Leadership and Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Eastern Michigan University. 

The Board of Education also approved Superintendent Graden’s recommendation to move current Pleasant Ridge Principal Brad Bezeau to Saline Middle School for the 2016-2017 school year.  Mr. Bezeau has been with Saline Area Schools since 2001 and has served as Pleasant Ridge Principal for the past 5 years. 

Mr. Bezeau said, “I am incredibly honored and excited as I take my next steps in my helping journey.  I look forward to beginning my work with the students and families of Saline Middle School and becoming a part of an already thriving school community and tremendously hard working staff. I hope that I can bring my skill set and talents to help the school take their next steps in their transformation.” 

Superintendent Graden shared his enthusiam for seeing Mr. Bezeau at Saline Middle School, “I feel this is a great fit for Mr. Bezeau and Saline Area Schools.  I am looking forward to his leadership at the Middle School.  He brings experiences from the high school and elementary levels to the building which gives him a great perspective on the students.”

Mr. Bezeau received an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and a Masters of Arts in Guidance & Counseling from Eastern Michigan University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Michigan University.

Information regarding a posting for the Pleasant Ridge Elementary Principal position will be available the week of May 2nd.
