Nearly 2,000 Saline Area Residents Without Power Following Winter Storm

Nearly 2,000 Saline area DTE customers are without power after Monday's sleet and wind storm.

The Saline Area Fire Department was dispatched to the 500 block of South Ann Arbor Street for a downed wire at 5:57 p.m.  A minute later, firefighters were dispatched to Michigan Avenue and Monroe Street for a transformer issue. At 6:10 p.m., firefighters were sent to Mills Road and McKay Street for a transformer issue.

According to DTE's outage map, most of the city's power customers south of Bennett Street are without power.  The northwest section of York Townshop is also without power. DTE estimates power restoration by 10 p.m.

Freezing rain is expected to turn into rain by about 7:45 p.m. Wind gusts will be up to 30 miles per hour.
