The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the region until 9 p.m.
Severe weather is expected to move in this afternoon as a warm front lifts through the area. The first wave of weather could bring wind gusts up to 70 mph and one-inch hail between 4 and 8 p.m.
Tonight, a cold front sweeps through and brings more severe weather. Storms could bring 70 mph wind gusts, flooding rain, golf-ball sized hail and isolated tornadoes.
