The National Weather Service is forecasting 3 to 5 inches of snow for the region.

The weather service issued a Winter Weather Advisory that’s in effect from midnight Monday until midnight Tuesday. Snow is set to begin around midnight Monday and continue into the morning, potentially turning to rain before redeveloping after noon Tuesday.  According to the advisory, ice may accumulate and snow-covered or icy roads may be slick. The heaviest snow is expected during the evening commute.

An alert from the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office urged motorists to check weather and road conditions before driving, to use caution and increase following distances when roads become slippery.
