Police agencies investigating Monday's vehicle shootings believe the incidents were related, according to a news release issued Wednesday afternoon by Michigan State Police and Pittsfield Township Police.
Investigators from the Michigan State Police Brighton Post and the Pittsfield Township Police Department are continuing their joint investigation into three vehicle shootings which took place on Monday, March 25.
The first two shootings occurred on Austin Road between Schneider Road and Ernst Road in Bridgewater Township. Both shootings occurred between 5:40 and 6 p.m., according to the release. The first shooting occurred while the vehicle, a 2005 Chevy Silverado pickup, was being driven by a male driver and lone occupant, west on Austin Road, east of Ernst Road. The male driver is from Manchester. The second shooting occurred while the vehicle, a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix, was being driven by a female driver and lone occupant, west on Austin Road, west of Schneider Road. The female driver is from Adrian.
The third shooting occurred on Michigan Avenue, east of Industrial Drive in Pittsfield Township. The vehicle was traveling westbound on Michigan Avenue. The female driver and lone vehicle occupant is from Pittsfield Township, Michigan. This shooting occurred between 6 and 6:15 p.m.
No one was injured during any of the shootings.
Due to the short time span and close proximity investigators believe all three vehicle shootings are related, according to the news relsease.
There have been no additional vehicle shootings reported since Monday.
