The owner of a "Knockerball" franchise have plans to open in Saline.
Jason Carpenter, of Knockerball Michigan, has applied for a special land use from the City of Saline top operate a recreation business at 1305 E. Michigan Ave., in the same plaza that's home to Emagine Theatre.
Knockerball is game in which people wear inflatable bubbles. They bounce off each other, often as they run up and down a field playing a game like soccer. Knockerball Michigan offers games at its Livonia facility and also rents the equipment to people, organizations and businesses who plan off-site events.
Carpenter is on vacation and could not be reached for comment.
The Commons at Sauk plaza is transitioning from retail to family fun and recreation. The Country Market grocery store was converted into an Emagine Theatre. X-Golf Ann Arbor opened an indoor golf simulator last year.
