Representatives from Speedway will hold a community meeting to share information about their plans for a fuel and convenience store project on the northeast corner of Industrial Drive and Michigan Avenue in Pittsfield Township.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m., July 10 in the cafeteria at Harvest Elementary School, 1155 Campus Parkway.

Saline Area Schools and Marathon reached and agreement to sell the four acres of land, owned by the district, to Marathon for $850,000. The property will require a rezoning. Superintendent Scot Graden said the company is continuing to perform due diligence and the sale is not yet complete.

The deal is contingent upon utilities being extended, which could cost up to $1 million.

In recent years the district has sold the Union School property to Quantum Signal, the Houghton School property to Livonia Builders, and property along Woodland Drive to Linden Square assisted living. The district owns other vacant land, including parcels along Michigan Avenue and the soccer fields on Campus Parkway.
