Saline football player Justice Moss and a friend saved the lives of two children at the scene of a fatal crash in Augusta Township Sunday.

Saline High School senior Justice Moss was one of the heroes who saved two children in a fatal crash in Augusta Township Sunday.

Moss, who started on the defensive line for the Saline football team, was riding on Willis Road with Ypsilanti resident Jasper Gary-Bey when a driver at the scene of the crash flagged them down, according to WXYZ TV.

Gary-Bey and Moss realized they couldn't save the driver, Saline resident Shawn Macomber. But when they heard children screaming in the back seat.

"She said 'how's daddy?' And that kind of tugged at my heartstrings, but I was more focused on getting her head secure and making sure she was safe and taking her out of the vehicle,” Moss told WXYZ.

The pair were able to save Macomber's two children, ages 3 and 7, from the vehicle. Mcaomber's mother, also a Saline resident, contacted Moss and Gary-Bey with thanks for saving her grandchildren, according to the story.
