It’s the first weekend of April and despite the cold weather, it’s time to get out and about. Fortunately, there’s plenty to do right here in Saline.

Here's what we found on our free community calendar. (To post events and classifieds, you must register with a valid email address).

Live Music at the Bridgewater Bank

What: Dani & Garrett perform.
When: 9 p.m., Friday
Where: Bridgewater Bank Tavern, 8453 Boettner Road
Why: Country and rock music with drinks and friends.

Spring Fling @ The American Legion

What: Spring Fling @ The American Legion
When: Saturday night. 6 p.m. Dinner. Band at 8 p.m.
Where: The American Legion at Michigan Avenue and Mills Road.
Why: Italian dinner and then live music by Step Aside.
Cost: Dinner and band is $20/each or $35/couple. For the band only, it’s $10.

Bridal Show

What: Bridal Show
When: 1 p.m. Saturday.
Where: Travis Pointe Country Club.
Why: Check out the latest in bridal fashions. Prize drawings throughout the day.
Cost: Free.

Grease @ Emagine Theatre

What: Grease – the movie.
When: 2 p.m., Sunday.
Where: Emagine Theatre, 1335 E. Michigan Ave.
Why: Classic movie starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in the comfort of a modern movie theater.

Vignettes of the Michigan 17th in the Civil War

What: Bill Christin presents “Vignettes of the Michigan 17th in the Civil War.”
When: 2 p.m., Sunday.
Where: The Brecon Room in the Saline District Library.
Why: Everyone is invited to this free program offered by the Saline Area Historical Society. The 17th Regiment Michigan Volunteer Infantry served in the Civil War. It was made largely of students from Michigan State Normal College.
Cost: Free.

Trap Shooting

What: Trap Shooting
When: Noon to 3 p.m., Sunday.
Where: Tri-County Sportsmen’s League, 8640 Moon Road
Why: Trap shooting is open to members of the club and to the public.
Cost: One Round (25 targets) is $5 for nonmembers
