Siciliy Brawdy, Riley Rohan and Sofia Brawdy visit with Santa at Busch's Fresh Food Market in Saline Dec. 9.

Santa made a pre-Christmas stop in Saline Saturday.

He was at Busch’s Fresh Food Market – the final stop on the Treasure Trail to Santa, an event organized by the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce and its dedicated volunteers.

Children and their families started at Cottage Inn Pizza, where they received a map of the participating businesses. They stopped at each business, picking up goodies along the way. Then, at Busch’s, they enjoyed cookies and refreshments as they waited to visit Santa.

Kids sat on Santa’s lap and posed for pictures. They also recited their Christmas gift wish lift for Santa.

It was a special moment for many families with young children.

“Our Christmas baby got to see Santa for the first time today and even enjoyed her first sleigh ride,” said a grateful Sarah Cundiff. “Thank you for putting this on.”

Outside the supermarket, a horse-drawn carriage carted people around the parking lot.

The event was free.
