Dementia is often spoken of as something dreaded, like a curse, a plague, or a living death. These negative views and stigmas can lead to feelings of isolation, shame, fear, and worthlessness. Carol Waarala, MSW, LMSW, certified specialist in aging and dementia care, will explore the misconceptions surrounding dementia, and offer positive insight to families and individuals living with the disease.
