NAMI Ending the Silence is a free, 50 minute presentation designed to give parents and youth 12+ an opportunity to learn about mental illness through an informative Power Point and short videos. These are two separate presentations for parents and youth you will not be together. Through the presentation, you will learn symptoms and indicators of mental illness, and are given ideas about how to help someone who may be in need of support. Additionally, the presentation includes personal testimony from a young adult living with a mental illness about his/her journey to recovery and a parent who has lived in support of a youth with a mental health condition.
NAMI Washtenaw County, the local organization of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, will offer its next NAMI Ending the Silence presentation on October 14, 6-8 pm at First United Methodist of Saline, 1200 N. Ann Arbor St., Saline, MI 48176. Any questions call Jeanette Brenner at 734-429-4730.
