Saline Main Street and the Saline Celtic Festival are proud to present Celtic bluegrass newgrass locals, Thunderwüde at Salty Summer Sounds street fest on N Ann Arbor Street in the heart of Downtown Saline Thursday, July 11 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The concert is the unofficial kickoff of the Saline Celtic Festival, held Friday and Saturday at Mill Pond Park. Athletes from the Ancient Athletic Games will be on hand to give kids and the audience a taste of this weekend's fun.
Born out of a need for bluegrass music in Chelsea, Thunderwüde began as a traditional bluegrass quartet and has since evolved into a tight-knit trio that plays everything from original compositions, classics and current billboard hits. Band members Wesley Fritzmeier, Jason Dennie and Tommy Reifel play guitar, mandolin, fiddle and upright bass. They feature traditional riffs behind soulful lyrics – promising to launch Saline into its annual Celtic Fest weekend with a bang.
Thunderwüde's live shows are said to charm human emotions with impeccable songwriting, affectional melodies and vocal harmonies.
"...playing bright, hammy originals and covers and aptly engaging the crowd of approving fans. The laid back way these musicians gel as a group is fascinating to watch. In one night the group thoroughly and unassumingly proves its adaptability," Patrick Dunn from The Ann Arbor Observer.
Salty Summer Sounds Live Music Street Fest takes place each Thursday night June to August from 7 to 9 PM on Ann Arbor Street near the 4 corners of Downtown Saline. Our businesses are open late, so be sure to shop and dine on this perfect summer night out sponsored by Saline Main Street!
