The Summer Music Series – a free, outdoor concert series brought to you by Saline Main Street, continues on South Ann Arbor Street this Thursday July 27 with Hullabaloo. They are an Ann Arbor based music collective that produces original music influenced by ska, reggae and punk blended with Latin rhythms. Since 2000, the Hullabaloo experience has been an upbeat, semi-chaotic showcase of musical expression.
"Blending Afro-Caribbean rhythms and a swinging horn section with original punky ska rock, Hullabaloo really live up to their name, creating an outrageous uproar everywhere they go. With an almost Mothers-like approach, the band variously contains anywhere from six to eleven members. Either way, stripped down or stacked up, Hullabaloo is an upbeat, dance crazy, chaotic joy ride that is both catchy and weirdly experimental. Based out of Ann Arbor, Hullabaloo is well known and well respected and rightfully so." "The band wows crowds with its concerts and mostly original songs. Self-described as "semi-chaotic," the band lives up to its billing."
