Three residents have pulled petitions to run for Saline City Council, and incumbent Brian Marl has pulled the petition to run for mayor.

The deadline for returning nominating petitions is 4 p.m., Aug. 7.

Incumbents Janet Dillon and Christen Mitchell have pulled their petitions from the city clerk's office. So has city resident Brian Cassise. Cassise bought a home on Amherst Circle in 2016.  In November, voters will elect a Mayor and three members of Saline City Council.

Incumbent Dean Girbach has not yet pulled a petition. Girbach, earlier this year, wouldn't say if he was running for council, but promised to be on the ballot, raising the possibility that he might challenge Mayor Marl. Marl, who defeated Glenn Law in 2012 and Lee Bourgoin in 2014 was unopposed in 2016.
