Tuesday, 2013 Apr 16th
The first team captains meeting for the Saline Relay for Life takes place at 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, April 17 at Brecon Village.
The meeting is open to representatives of teams that have already registered to take part in this year's local fight against cancer. The meeting is also open to anyone thinking about entering a team in the Relay for Live event, which takes place June 29-30 at Crabtree Field behind Liberty School.
Saline's varsity girls tennis team defeated Detroit Country Day 5-3.

Lacrosse Team Falls to 3-3
The Saline varsity lacrosse team was defeated by South Lyon, 12-3. Saline fell to 3-3 on the season. Saline hosts Huron Friday night at 7 p.m. The junior varsity team improved to 6-0 with a 7-3 win over South Lyon. Saline's freshman team lost 7-4 to Walled Lake Central's junior varsity team.
Softball Team Opens With Doubleheader Sweep
The Saline varsity softball team opened the 2013 season by sweeping their hosts from Tecumseh, 4-3 and 8-3.
Saline lost the opener 10-0 and was down 4-1 in the second game before battling back for the split in a matchup of two of Michigan's top baseball teams.

Friday was a morning for family fun at the Saline Area Fire Department firehouse.
The annual Firehouse Friday open house, sponsored by W4 Country radio host Brian "Bubba" Cowan and Key Bank, featured a free breakfast, tours of the fire engines, crafts, visits from Saline Community Fair calves, and a chance for kids to meet the local firefighters.
"We love Firehouse Fridays. It's nice to bring the families down before school and let the kids get a chance to see the fire department and all our gear and equipment," Fire Chief Craig Hoeft said.

The new all-terrain vehicle should help the fire department battle field fires and brush fires and give the department more agility when it comes to off-road rescues.
The downtown Saline business has been making people look their best for 25 years.
The 2013 Saline High School football schedule has been finalized. Highlights include the home opener on Friday, August 30 vs. A.B. Lucas Vikings (Division 1) from London, Ontario. The program is a Ontario powerhouse with returning players on both sides of the ball and their coaches expect another strong team. The Hornets have never played a Canadian team.
Saline Head Coach Joe Palka noted it was great opportunity for the students and the community.
Abbey Sovitch and Taylor Mulder scored for Saline's varsity soccer team.
Nick Karapas scored four and Tommy Hickey scored three to lead Saline.
