Road Commission to Unveil Roundabout Education Tool at Pittsfield Farmers Market Thursday

Pittsfield Township Farmers Market shoppers are invited to learn about roundabouts Thursday.

The market is held at the Pittsfield Township from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays during the summer at the Pittsfield Township Hall, located at 6201 W. Michigan Ave.

Officials from the Washtenaw County Road Commission will unveil a roundabout education tool modeling the roundabout at State and Ellsworth roads. The educational took is a 4-by-4 vinyl mat with model cars and trucks that provide users with a hands-on experience that teaches them how to correctly drive in the roundabout.

Washtenaw County Road Commission senior project manager Mark McCullough and State Farm Insurance Agent John Avery will be present from 3:30 to 5 p.m. to take questions.

The mat will be permanently displayed at the Pittsfield Senior Center, near the intersection of State and Ellsworth.
