Competing without two of their top athletes, Saline defeated Adrian 132.9 to 105.645 in girls gymnastics at Saline High School Wednesday.

Saline improved to 3-1 in the South Central Gymnastics League.

“We two of our best girls out tonight so some of the girls stepped up and helped us tonight,” coach Mandy Brown said.

Senior Katie Mulligan had a big day for Saline. She scored well enough to qualify for regionals in all four events.

Charlotte Peterson was the high scorer in the vault, with a score of 8.725. Senior Alex Wagner, 8.7, Mulligan, 8.6, and freshman Sarah McLaughlin, 8.45, also finished in the scoring for Saline. Lisa Heider, 8.4, Jordan Raft, 8.35, and Lauren Bachli, 8.3, also competed. Selina Bachli, 8.4, Bella Hornyak, 8.05, Haleigh Herman, 8.0, and Liv Paduan, 7.9, competed on the “B team.”
