Jan Louise (Gwyn) Gornik, wife of Ermin Gornik, passed away on December 24th, 2018.

She is survived by her husband, sisters: Julie (Marc) Courville and Lee Gwyn, and daughters: Hannah (John and Beatrice) Wohlfert, Martha (Tobias) Fissel, and Noelle (Michael) Lynn.

She was a woman of great wisdom and joy, who earnestly sought to live her life following in the footsteps of Jesus. She was a wonderful mother who created a very hospitable environment for so many of her daughters’ friends, was known for her great costumes and was a doting “Nana” to her grand-daughter.

Over the years she was an involved member of the University Christian Outreach, Word of God, Word of Life and Christ the King Catholic Church communities. She was an avid reader and artist (weaving, knitting and dyeing), and had a long-standing knitting group with friends as well as serving on the board of the Ann Arbor Fiberarts Guild for several years. Though she had many trials and sufferings here on earth, we have hope that she now sees the face of God in this Christmas season - as her favorite author, Oswald Chambers said: “The secret of a Christian’s life is that the supernatural becomes natural in him as a result of the grace of God.”

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Ann Arbor from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with an open mic sharing time at 7:30 P.M. A Prayer Service will be held at the church on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with a visitation prior from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M.
