9 People Died on Michigan's Roads Last Week

MDOT - 9 people died on Michigan roadways since last week making a total of 198 this year.  In addition, 88 more were seriously injured for a statewide total of 993 to date.  

Compared to last year at this time there are 22 more fatalities and 3 fewer serious injuries.

Numbers are provided by the Michigan State Police.

National Work Zone Awareness Week 2019 is scheduled for April 8-12.

Each year in the spring, National Work Zone Awareness Week is held to bring national attention to motorist and worker safety and mobility issues in work zones. Since 1999, FHWA has worked with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) to coordinate and sponsor the event.
