Several young adults and teens are being treated at the scene of a crash on Michigan avenue around noon Thursday afternoon.
It appears there were at least two vehicles involved in the incident. A small Toyota passenger vehicle suffered extensive front-end damage and airbags were deployed. Across the street at Taco Bell an SUV suffered much less damage.
The incident snarled traffic in both directions.
According to Saline Police Department Officer Mike Snook, a blue Ford Explorer pulled out of the Taco Bell driveway in front of an east-bound Toyota sedan. The sedan struck the back of the driver's side of the SUV. The Toyota crossed west-bound traffic and wound up in a grassy field between the two shopping plazas. The SUV spun around and went down the grassy embankment in front of Taco Bell.
Two members of the Saline High School Marching Band were in the Toyota, on their way to band practice. One was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The other received some medical attention at the scene.
The driver of the SUV complained of a headache and was going to seek medical attention on her own.
Saline Police, Saline Area Fire and Huron Valley Ambulance responded to the incident.
