One patient was transported to Chelsea Hospital with minor injuries after a crash in Lodi Township prior to 8 a.m. Monday.

The Saline Area Fire Department was dispatched to Pleasant Lake Road, near Gensley road, at 7:56 a.m.

Saline Firefighter Brandon Sears said firefighters arrived and found the car on fire and the patient outside of the vehicle.

“The driver may have lost control and went off into the field. Somehow the engine compartment caught fire,” Sears said.

Sears said there were several minor fender-benders with today’s snowfall. The crash on Pleasant Lake Road was the only crash that caused injuries serious enough for hospitalization, Sears said.
