Both Saline High School and Saline Middle School Science Olympiad kicked off their season at the Northview Tournament in Ohio on Saturday.  Several top national teams were present. Saline High School competed with three teams and took a sixth-place overall along with nine medals and ribbons.

“The Northview Tournament is an excellent first tournament for us, students spend several months preparing and it offers us an opportunity to see where we need to improve. We have a very young team this year, with only three seniors. We took over thirty students to the tournament and it’s by far the largest group we have ever taken to this tournament.”  Said Nath Akella, Head Coach.

Centerville (OH)  won the tournament and Pioneer finished third. Pioneer finished fifth at Nationals last year, and their two teams had an exceptionally strong showing.
