Sentencing Pushed Back for Drunk Driver Who Killed Saline Man

Matthew Stoy, who pleaded no contest to two drunk driving charges in relation to the July 11 crash that killed Jacob Rauguth, will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m., Jan. 31 by Washtenaw County Circuit Judge Archie Brown.

Stoy's blood alcohol content was more than four times the legal limit when he blew through a stop sign on Moon Road and struck Rauguth's vehicle. Rauguth’s girlfriend, Molly O’Sullivan, and friend, Ethan Suydam, were also injured in the crash.

On Nov. 8 Stoy pleaded no contest to operating with a high blood alcohol content causing death, with a prior conviction. He also pleaded no contest to a operating with a high blood alcohol content causing serious injury with a prior conviction.

Rauguth was a 2015 graduate of Saline High School.
