Not only did Eric Harris qualify for the state meet in the pole vault, he won the regional and set a new Saline High School record (15 feet, 3 1/2 inches)

Saline High School hosted the MHSAA regional track meet Friday. Saline's boys team won the regional trophy and the girls placed third.

Several Hornets qualified for the state meet, either by finishing first or second, or by making a state qualifying time or distance.

Here are your Hornet qualifiers:

  • Anthony DeKraker, 2nd in the 3200 meters, 9:26
  • Spencer Leslie, 3rd in the 800, 1:57.06
  • Jessie Larson 11:03.40
  • Christian Chuparkoff, Robbie Felton, Winford Walker, Sean Duffy, 2nd in the 4-by-200 relay, 1:28.84
  • Spencer Leslie, Robbie Felton, Jacob Brunty, Sean Duffy, 1st in the 4-by-400 relay, 3:25.58
  • William Downey, Spencer Leslie, Aidan Carichner, Anthony DeKraker, 1st in the 4-by-800, 7:52.47
  • Emma Cummings, Rebecca Cantrell, Kayla Fortino, Taylor Vaugh, 2nd in the 4-by-800 relay, 9:39.54
  • CJ Gildersleeve, 1st in the discus, 148 feet; 2nd in the shot put, 47 feet
  • Nathan Powers, 2nd in the discus, 146-07
  • Eric Harris, 1st in the pole vault, 15-03.5
  • Kyle Nouhan, 2nd in the pole vault, 14-00
  • Sloane Pepper, 2nd in the high jump, 5-02
