Saline split a doubleheader with Northville Tuesday, winning 3-0 and losing 2-0.
It’s the second loss in as many doubleheaders for a team that began the season going 28-1. The Hornets are now 30-3.
In the victory, Cole Daniels scattered two hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out three. Justin Flanagan pitched a perfect seventh inning, striking out one.
Saline scored two runs in the first inning. With two out, Zach Schwartzenberger was hit by a pitch. Sean O’Keefe singled and Jake Finkbeiner singled to load the bases. Daniels drove in two runners with a line drive to right field.
Saline added a run in the fifth inning. Ethan Collick singled to lead off the inning. He moved to second when Ryan Foley grounded to shortstop. Kellan Huang drove in Collick with a single.
Saline finished with eight hits. O’Keefe and Collick each had two hits.
Northville pitched Ben Schmidt blanked the Hornets on four hits in the second game.
Danny Weidmayer took the loss. He gave up two runs on six hits and a walk. He struck out three. Northville scored its runs in the fourth inning with a single, a walk and two hit batters.
Foley, Huang, Finkbeiner and Joe Borowski had hits for Saline.
Saline hosts a doubleheader against Chelsea Friday.
