 08/09/2017 - 23:50

The Saline FC U18 girls soccer team is holding a donation driver to spread their love of soccer to youth teams in Detroit and around the country.

Organizer Emily Cohen said the team is collecting jerseys, shorts, shinguards, goalie jerseys and gloves, socks, cleats, soccer balls and soccer bags to donate to teams in need.

“The items will be given to soccer teams in need of equipment and uniforms, both local teams in Detroit and other areas around the country,” Cohen said, adding that collectors aren’t picky. “The items can be in any condition and can have names, numbers and other markings.”

Donate items at the following times and places

  • 10 a.m. to noon, Aug. 12 at Henne Field (on Bennett Street in Saline).
  • 10 a.m. to noon, Aug. 26, at the Campus Parkway soccer fields (Just east of Industrial Drive)
  • 10 a.m. to noon, Sept. 2, at the Campus Parkway soccer fields.

To have items picked up contact Cohen at 561-797-6641 or cohenemily7@gmail.com.
