Saline's Dakota Hurbis Breaks MISCA Meet Diving Record

Saline senior and defending state champion diver Dakota Hurbis set the MISCA meet record Friday at Eastern Michigan University.

Hurbis finished with a score of 531.70, breaking a 17-year-old MISCA meet record (520.05) set by Ypsilanti’s Paul McCarty in 2000.

Hurbis led after the preliminaries with a score of 240.85 and led after the semifinals with a score of 387.55.

Saline opened the meet by winning the 200-yard medley relay in 1:34.96, nearly two full seconds faster than Zeeland. Saline also won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1

Daniel Keith won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 51.03. Cole Nelson was 12th in 53.89. Matt Lau was second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 58.06.

Keith was also second in the 100-yard backstroke (51.89). Jared Ehrman was sixth in 53.89.

Greg Wenning placed 10th in the 100 freestyle in 48.64. Josh Willwerth was tied for 16th at 48.93.

Spencer Rohlofff was 12th in the 500 freestyle (4:53).

The Hornets visit Skyline Thursday for their last league dual meet.
