Cummings, Connor and Sayre Win for Saline at U of M Preview

Hannah Cummings, shown running a relay at EMU Saturday, was first in the 800 at the University of Michigan Thursday.

Senior Hannah Cummings won the 800 meter race and Erin Connor won the shot put as the Saline girls track and field team competed in the Saline Spring Preview Invite at the University of Michigan Track Building Thursday. Lauren Sayre also won the high jump for Saline.

For Connor, it was her second victory in two outings. Saturday she won at EMU by throwing 38-05. Thursday she won with a throw of 39-10.5.

Cummings completed the 800 race in 2:24.61. Abby Wilson (4th, 2:42) and Olivia Habart (6th, 2:45) also placed well for Saline.

Sayre won the high jumo by clearing 5-04.

Sophomore Jessi Larson turned in a strong performance in the 1600. She finished second in 5:10.81. Anne Forsyth, of Pioneer, was first in 5:04.87. Regan Smith (5th, 5:28) and Kayla Fortino (6th, 5:37) also ran well for the Hornets.

Cathy Dager ran a strong fifth in the 60 dash, finishing in 8.40. Taylor Vaughan was Saline’s fastest in the 400, finishing in 1:07.90. Sara Foley was 10th in the 60 hurdles (10.75). Skyler Hardt was fourth in the pole vault, clearing 9 feet. Allie Haugen was 10th in the long jump, leaping 14-05.75.
