The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in Southeast Michigan until 7 p.m.
The forecast calls for thunderstorms to begin at about 4 p.m. as a cold front moves in. The strongest storms may be capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour and hail up to an inch in diameter.
Storm motion will be to the northeast at about 40 miles per hour.
According to the National Weather Service, there is more potential for severe weather Friday and Saturday.
