Congressman Tim Walberg announced today he will be hosting a series of Vietnam veteran lapel-pinning ceremonies in commemoration of the 50-year anniversary of the Vietnam War. Events will be taking place all across the 7th District, and the first one is scheduled with Washtenaw County veterans on Thursday, July 21 at the Saline American Legion.
“We are forever indebted to those who answered America’s call and dutifully served our country during the Vietnam War,” said Walberg. “It is an honor to participate in this pinning ceremony as we offer local veterans the recognition and respect that has been so deeply earned. After fifty years, this tribute is long overdue.”
The Vietnam War Commemorative Lapel Pin is authorized by the United States Congress in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War and is available to any veteran who served on active duty at any time from Nov. 1, 1955 – May 15, 1975, regardless of location.
To register for this special pin, Vietnam-era veterans can call Congressman Walberg’s office at 517-780-9075or visit his website at walberg.house.gov/Vietnam. The public is also welcome to attend and honor our veterans.
