The Summer Music Series – a free, outdoor concert series brought to you by Saline Main Street, continues this Thursday, August 17.   This week the Saline Area Schools Pep Rally begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by Saline Big Band  at 7:30 p.m.

The public is invited to join Saline High School coaches, athletes, cheerleaders and marching band musicians for the third annual Pep Rally starting at 6:30 pm. This event is organized by Saline Area Schools and Saline Main Street.

Superintendent Scot Graden said the majority of Saline High School fall sports teams will be represented at the event. The full marching band will attend and perform, as will the cheerleading squad. Saline Hornets gear will be available for purchase!

Immediately following the pep rally, you are invited to stay for the Saline Big Band concert! This 17 Piece Saline Big Band has been playing all over Southeast Michigan.  It is a direct outgrowth of the Saline Music program and has been serving the Schools and Community of Saline Michigan, since 1973.  Over the years the band has acquired and maintains a large music library of old and new big band arrangements.  There are many standard arrangements and arrangements that were created directly from the original phonograph records.  They also have original arrangements and compositions by Andy Neilson and other members.

All Summer Music Series concerts are held in downtown Saline. The series is free to all guests and highlights a wide variety of cultured musicians!

In addition to the spectacular music, guests can enjoy downtown Saline’s favorite eateries and unique shops. The goal of Summer Music Series is to bring people to our downtown, both from our local community and beyond. Feel free to bring your friends and enjoy a nice summer evening in downtown Saline!  Kids activities will also be provided each week by Oakwood Church.
