A 23-year-old Saline woman will face two felony charges and a misdemeanor charge after allegedly assaulting her mother and father, Aug. 3.

The incidents occurred in the evening and early afternoon on Saline River Drive.

The woman allegedly spat in her father’s face and scratched his face. At one point, when he was trying to call his wife, the daughter took the phone. The two fell to the ground in a struggle for the phone.

He left and went out to dinner with his wife to allow his daughter time to calm down, according to the police report.

When they returned home, the mother went upstairs to lay down. Her daughter came into her room and began swearing at her before straddling her, placing hands around her neck and squeezing.

According to the father, his daughter was not taking medicine prescribed to treat depression and anxiety.

The daughter emailed her account of the situation to police. That account wasn’t made available to the press.

The Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office has authorized felony complaints for assault by strangulation and interfering with electronic communications. An additional misdemeanor assault complaint was authorized.
