Firefighters from Pittsfield and Saline responded to a fire on the 7600 block of Fosdick Road Tuesday. A neighbor in the Pittsfield Township neighborhood reported smoke coming from the garage. Pittsfield firefighters arrived to find a fire in a three-car attached garage. The fire was quickly extinguished before it spread to the newly constructed home, according to a news release issued by the Pittsfield Department of Public Safety. The fire caused $30,000 in damage.

No one was home at the time of the fire. A family dog was found safe in the basement.

Firefighters from Saline were called for use of their tanker, since there are no hydrants in the area. But the fire was out by the time Saline firefighters arrived.

A next-door neighbor sustained a minor cut to his hand attempting to gain access to the garage. Medical attention was not required. Huron Valley Ambulance were also on the scene.
