Saline Girls Take Third at River Rat Invitational

The Saline girls varsity cross country team took third at the River Rat Invitational at Willow Run Metropark Friday.

Saline finished with73 points – behind Pioneer (33) and Northville (35).

Junior Kayla Fortino was Saline’s fastest runner, finishing sixth in 19:04.3 – the best time of her career.

Senior Rebecca Cantrell (12th, 19:40), sophomore Nicole Dillman (16th, 20:04), senior Juliana Romero (22nd, 20:27) and senior Katherine Clark, (24th, 20:33) comprised the Saline scoring five.

In the junior varsity race Saline edged Huron by 10 points, 68-78, to win.

Saline won with just one top 10 runner – freshman Zoe Ziembovic, who was ninth in 23.48. Kelly Adamovicz, Allison Elms, Ashley Desimone and Elena Tsantis also finished in Saline’s top five.
