Saline senior Jake Zambeck signed a letter of intent to play football at Alma College. He was joined by his brother Isaac, father Nick, mother Dana and sister Abby.

Senior Jake Zambeck was one of seven Saline High School football players who took part in “National Signing Day” activities Wednesday. Zambeck, a 5’11, 180-pound receiver, committed to Alma College.

“I chose Alma College because I like the size of it. It was the right fit for me and I really envisioned myself being there,” Zambeck said.

Zambeck said the coaches at Alma thought he was a great fit for their offense and they were looking for receivers.

Zambeck has many memories from his years in the Saline football program. Above all, he’ll remember his second family.

“The sense of community within the team, the brothers I have here, I will always cherish that,” Zambeck said.

Saline football coach Joe Palka said Zambeck has a bright future at Alma.

“Jake was a good receiver that played a huge role on special teams.  He keeps getting better and I think he will be a good receiver who will see lot's of playing time at Alma,” Palka said.

Zambeck will study secondary education and hopes to become a teacher.
