Saline earned another SEC Red Swim and Dive victory Thursday, defeating Huron 132-54.
The Hornets won every swimming event en route to victory.
The night began with Davis Klein, Ethan Saunders, Cole Nelson and Josh Willwerth winning the 200-yard medley relay. Saunders, a sophomore, was right back in the pool for the 200-yard freestyle, which he won in 1:47.29. Blake Coy and Joshua Mahaney were right behind him, taking second and third.
Klein, a senior, won the 200-yard IM in a D1 state-qualifying time of 1:57.21. He was followed by Cooper Osgood and Thomas Walsh, who took second and third.
Willwerth won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.31 seconds. Joshua Brunty was third in 23.95.
Huron’s lone victory came in diving, where Kyle Huehn won with a score of 275.1. Saline sophomore Jason Heisler was second, with 215.3, and junior Joshua Birch was third, with 166.35.
Mahaney, a senior, won the 100-butterfly with a D1 state-qualifying time of 53.14. Nelson was second and Osgood was third.
Saunders won his second event of the night in the 100-yard freestyle, swimming the race in a state-qualifying time of 48 seconds. Willwerth was third in 49.62 seconds.
Coy, a freshman, won the 500 in 4:50.66 – another state-qualifying time. Nicholas Huetteman was third in 5:13.22.
Willwerth, Saunders, Klein and Coy won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:31.77.
Nelson won the 200-yard backstroke in 56.63. Walsh was third in 58.57.
Klein’s second win came in the backstroke, which he swam in in a state-qualifying time of 58.82. Joshua Brunty was third in 1:04.25.
Mahaney, Coy, Osgood and Nelson won the 400-yard freestyle to cap the meet for Saline.
