Wolverine Steven Bastien Earns All-America Honors at NCAA Nationals

University of Michigan decathlete Steven Bastien (Saline HS) earned first-team All-America honors in the decathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
  • 4th place with 8,015 points to break his own University of Michigan record by 98 points
  • 56th man in college history to score at least 8,000 points in the decathlon
  • Back-to-back first-team All-American, best-ever finish in the event for Michigan
  • Fourth alum of a high school in the state of Michigan to ever break 8,000 points (source: /http://michtrack.org/ATL-men%20outdoor.pdf)
  • Set five career-best marks in the 10-event competition

Bastien is a 2012 graduate of Saline High School, where he was named Mr. Track and Field in his senior year.
